Friday night was the season premiere for The Medium on CBS. FINALLY, they've got Alison's hair right! I've been watching this show off and on since it's been on air, and her hairstyle has been hit or miss - mostly miss. Not only that, but for some reason the costumers at NBC could only find really dowdy, GRAY polyester clothes in Alison's size. Thank goodness they moved to CBS! She now has an attractive hairstyle that suits her face, and clothes that don't make her look dumpy. :) LOVE the haircut on the older daughter actress, as well. Now if they could do something with "Joe"'s hair.....yeesh.
Last night was the new season opener for ABC shows "Desperate Housewives" and "Brothers and Sisters", and of course I couldn't miss 'em. ;) WTH is the deal with the new neighbors on Wisteria Lane? What IS it about that house, that they can't get anybody "normal" to live there? Is it just me, or does everybody else see total revenge hell in store for Susan? Am I the only one who thinks Orson Hodge is a FREAK Of NATURE???
The whole storyline on B&S with Rob Lowe and Calista Flockhart maybe/maybe not divorcing is getting old, but it looks like Calista's character is getting a dread disease...could be interesting. On the other hand, somebody in the costume department needs firing over that horrifying outfit they put Patricia Wettig in - WHAT was that blue and purple patterned SACK she was wearing?!? Not only was it ugly as hell, but her implants were REALLY obvious. Enough already! C'mon folks, if you are a Hollywood star, you can afford plastic surgery that looks more natural than that....

New TV Shows
Today is Wednesday, and there are some new shows coming on this week, and premieres of old series. Started with the ER replacement called "Mercy", which looks pretty good, and then watched Glee, which only gets funnier and funnier. THEN I tried "Eastwick" on NBC. This show is based on the book The Witches of Eastwick. I have NO idea who the guy is who's playing Jack Nicholson's part, but damn if he ain't channeling Jack Nicholson....

SCORE!!!!!!!!
On Saturday, I packed up my old clothes, because they're all so big they flap around now. Pants fit fine in the waistband because they're elastic, but in the legs and butt, they're baggy as can be, haha. So, I'm not done yet, because some clothes are still in the laundry, but so far I have 7 bags of clothes sitting in my floor.
On Sunday, I went to the Goodwill in Kernersville and was there when they opened the door at 1:00. Spent almost an hour and came out with a few pieces. Next stop: Goodwill on Penny Rd. in High Point. That's a nice Goodwill; it's new, and has a coffee bar inside. The clothes are arranged by color, which makes it easy to pick things - go to the plus size department, look at colors you like. :) Since most items are $3.75 or less, it's all a great deal. Man if I was still a 2x, I'd have had it made - there were SEVERAL long-sleeved linen Kim Rogers shirts and some other things too. I totally scored though, because I found a Bob Mackie piece in purple, my favorite color.
I have never cared a fig about clothing brands or designer labels, but I have to say I'm dressing better in that regard since I started shopping at Goodwill than I did ever in my life. I've scored Maggie Barnes, Bob Mackie, Kim Rogers, Liz Claiborne and others, all for $3.75 each and in excellent condition! ROCK ON!!!
Next stop after lunch was Carolina Thrift, on Wendover Ave. This is a thrift store, not affiliated with Goodwill that I can tell. They have their clothes tagged with a price, and sorted by size, so it's fairly easy to find the size you like. They also have clothes divided by TYPE - i.e. long pants, shorts, capris, short sleeve pullover, short sleeve button front, long sleeve pullover, etc. The only downside to this place is, it literally reeks. They have some water damage somewhere, and the place smells like a giant vat of soured laundry. :( Blech!
So, for <$60, I came home with 9 tops and 5 pair of pants! Can you say SCOOOOORRRRREEEE???
